Thanks in advance....
So I started using VNC to control a windows xp box with my powerbook recently.. I use software from www.realvnc.com on the xp box to act as the server and then use a program called chicken of the vnc to control it on the pb..
This works amazing on my internal network because I can just use the computers ip address...
So now I am trying to access the box from an external site and am having trouble.. I setup the router to forward port 80(both public and private) to the ip address of my windows xp box.. Then I set up a free domain at no-ip.com so that even if the ip address of my router changes, the domain will stay attached to it..
So everything should be okay right?? However whenI try to access the computer the connection times out.. I have tried it two ways to get there... first in the host name use the following - <router ip>:80... I have also tried using the domain.. but if I use the domain I am unable to specfice the port to use on the router..
What am I doing wrong..
