VMWare with dos7.10 install help! -- *SOLVED*

Basically I'm trying to set up a dos7.10 virtual machine. However, whenever I try to install it gives me a "need to format to fat32/16/blah blah blah" message saying that I do not have a logical partition formatted on the harddrive (I allocated a fat 32 partitioned harddrive to the OS). If I agree to do this, it will tell me to reboot to which I encounter a non system disk error that I cannot get out of. Anyone know how to help?
