Vmware rocks!

I'm running all my main apps on a windows 2000 virtual machine. everything seems just as fast as xp, even the windows media player visualizations don't have any lag. if my virtual box gets infected somehow, i'll still have my main box running vmware as backup. 😀

no, it's not free. costs around 200 for the workstation.

VMWare Player is free and there are free tools available to create virtual machines.

Microsoft's Virtual Server 2005 is free. It requires IIS though, so XP Home users are SOL.

Actually, if your virtual box gets infected somehow, you should have a backup of the "last known good state" of the VM.
