VMWARE - Multi-boot OS?

If I have this right, VMWARE is software that allows you to boot multiple OS's. Am I right? If this is the case I want to be able to mess around with old windows 9x/ME/xp/vista and learn their differences for study purposes (A+/Network+/MCP/MCDST). Your experiences with this program would be good to hear about. Another question would be where can I pick up these old OS's for cheap? Any reputable site? Thanks in advance guys 🙂

Get VMWare Server, it's free and does most of the things that Workstation does.

This man speaks the truth. There's also Microsoft VirtualPC which is free as well, I like VMWare better but VPC does the job (especially for MS OSs as the guests).

VirtualBox is supposed to be good as well. It's free too.

For your purpose, VMWare Server and Microsoft's free Virtual PC and Virtual Server will all work.

For Microsoft's MCP and MCDST, there won't be any need for Windows 98 or ME. Unfortunately, licenses for '98 and ME (at least ones that meet Microsoft's rules for transfer) aren't as cheap as you'd think they'd be.

QFT. I have found that VirtualBox offers much better performance than VMWare Server under high I/O loads. This is with linux host and WinXP guest.
