VMware for Linux questions...!!!

Hi

I just downloaded VMware (3.0 trial version). I already have Windows 98, Windows XP, and Mandrake 8.1 installed on SEPERATE partitions on my HD.

What i want to do is setup Windows 98 as a virtual machine that i can run from within Mandrake.

The question is this: Do i have to reinstall windows 98 to it's partition from within VMware or can i just configure VMware to recognize the already installed operating system and make it a Guest Virtual Machine?

Thanx for any help.

P.S. NocMonkey...If i like it i will BUY it damn it. 🙂

VMWare can boot from a RAW disk, I havn't done it that way though.

The main problem is VMWare virutalizes all the hardware, so the hardware available in the VM session isn't the same as what's really in your machine so you'll have 2 sets of drivers in your 98 install.

It's really easier just to install Win98 fresh inside of VMWare, especially since you're just starting out with VMWare.
