Hi,

My friend has a 1.7 Willamette and a ECS P4S5A/DX+ (crap mobo lol). I want to overclock his processor (stuck a sp-94 on it.....yeah yeah...i know, its a waste, but i fried my P4 mobo so im P4-less) but I cannot manually adjust the cpu voltage. To make it worse, it autos to 1.6V instead of 1.75!!!! Anywas, i was wondering if anyone knows where i could find info ono vmodding the thing so that i could get the voltage up to ~1.75V-1.85V or up.

thx

i dont think that there was so much enthusiasm for people to find a voltmod for the socket 423

however if its 478 and shares the same pinout as the northwood...which it probably does, there is a voltmod, BUT, however, it only takes it up to 1.7 iirc, the pins you short are already shorted on your CPU as default.

i guess you can find the formula for making 1.8 or 1.9 if you board undervolts like that, but irrc, it was very difficult to get that combination. be prepared for tons of frustration, i was ready to throw my computer out the window just shorting two pins on the OUTER side of the PGA, for 1.8 and 1.9 i think its the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th row in...GL and YMMV - but hey even if you do fry it, remember you didnt waste much. :)
