When I boot-up, I get this error:

VMM32.VXD is required to run windows. If this file is not in your path, you may have to reinstall windows.

Can someome please tell me how to fix this?

Please be specific because I'm a former Mac user and am DOS illiterate.

Thanks!

What OS? Windows 98/95/ME/2K ?

Doesn't really matter.. in DOS type at the C:\> prompt type [cd\] without brackets then type [dir vmm32.vxd /s/b] again without brackets. If it isn't found ( goes back to C:\> prompt without anything else popping up) you will need to reinstall windows. If somthing like [C:\directory\vmm32.vxd] type [move c:\directory\vmm32.vxd c:\windows\system] where "directory" can be variable. just type it exactly as it looks when you did the search for it. (dir vmm32.vxe /s/b)

KaiLord, I did what you suggested but vmm32.vxd wasn't found.

How do I reinstall Windows from the C:\>p prompt?

You'll need either a bootable Windows CD or a boot floppy with CD-ROM drivers on. Boot from whichever you've got, insert the Windows CD, type d: (where d is the letter assigned to your cd-rom drive... yours might be a different letter) and hit enter; type setup and hit enter. Away you go!
