Ok, so some of the stuff I'm doing for work requires Windows. I recently got rid of my BC parition on the Mac because I was running low on HD space. I'm thinking about installing VMWare Fusion 2 in 10.6.1 and setting up a 15GB virtual hard drive for Windows XP on an external USB 2.0 5400rpm hard drive...is this going to be fast enough to run a VM? Should I look into building a firewire drive instead? What about a USB flash drive?

I'm pretty low on space and don't think I could afford to spare 15GB on the internal drive.

If you can live with slow performance, it's certainly usable. I wouldn't recommend it on a USB flash drive, much too slow, and too expensive for the space. A USB or Firewire hard drive is fine. Firewire will give you better performance.
