VM got corrupted, any chance of saving this?

I had a power related issue where my UPS did not trip fast enough and some servers including my VM server took a hit from a power flicker. So basically stuff went down hard.

Running ESXi and managed to restore most of my VMs except one that is showing up as "Unknoiwn 20003 (invalid)"

I removed it, then re-added it to inventory, but it still shows up that way.

I presume the VMDK is corrupt. Anything I can do to perhaps restore it, or is it pretty much done for? I have an image of the OS somewhere but still hoping not to have to resort to having to rebuild it. It might be something simple that I'm overlooking.

Got it working!

Basically I just created a new VM then re-attached the old VMDK file to it and it booted up!

As far as I can tell it works, but it's a VPN server, so I'll only know once I'm off my network and can test it. But given I can SSH into it and such chances are it's good.

Had to fiddle around with some stuff to get Linux to recognize the "new" nic though.
