VLC: Make the resizing stop!!!

Ok, so I went and broke it somehow.
VLC's developers finally added the feature to make it stop resizing the window every single time it opened a new video - or with a DVD, at every single chapter.
All was well, until I installed v1.0.5 today. That behavior went away, even though I told the installer to keep my preferences.
Got rid of that, and put v1.0.3 back. It won't work now - every time a new video or chapter starts, the window resizes itself to the native size of the video.
Already tried:
- Preferences set to Advanced
- Video -> Set Video Width/Height to -1 (also tried 0)
- Checked "Video Auto Scaling"
- Unchecked "Video Auto Scaling"

I tried all these combinations, but nothing seems to have any effect. (And I restarted VLC after changing any settings, as changing them without doing so seems to do absolutely nothing.

So what gives? What magical little setting did I forget that is allowing VLC to resize the window at will?

Oh, and it also wiped out all my hotkey settings.
"Keep preferences" - doesn't seem to do a whole heck of a lot.

EDIT: Why it was in the easiest place. Video section? Nah, of course not, that'd be too obvious.
Interface -> Main Interfaces -> Qt -> Resize interface to the native video size.🙄
