VLC is acting up

so my first gripe is that it wont play .rmvb files. I thougt it was supposed to be able to.

Secondly some movies i wont be able to skip to a point(itll just stop the movie if i try to move the time bar thing) also itll just kinda mess up sometimes. WMP performs alot better, if it werent for all the supported media i would probably just switch back.

i tried reinstalling my video drivers and reinstalling vlc, nothing has changed though. any thoughts?

I think mplayer with its own codecs pack installed was able to play real media.

I thought VLC came with decoders for RMVB files? Anyways, You could try Real Alternative which will allow you to play RealMedia files. You can get it here (free):
