VLC Hardware acceleration issues with a 6950

Just wondering if anyone else had encountered this, bought my 6950 yesterday (sooooo happy with it 🙂) but found that VLC started having huge issues like it would show static images when you watched video and just skip ahead like 10 seconds at a time (so 0.1fps essentially 😛) turned hardware acceleration off and obviously no problems anymore but just wondering if anyone else had to do this?

I don't have this issue I am using the hotfix drivers

Also did you unlock yours to 6970 😀 .

hmm I'm just using standard drivers so could try that...that being said hardware acceleration before seemed to do 'nothing' didn't take any load off the cpu :'(

haven't unlocked it yet but definitely plan too, would have done it straight away but i'm between houses and where my computer is setup is a pain in the arse to get too so it was a bit epic dragging the thing out (weighs about 30kg's....soooo changing to a lighter system when I complete my upgrade 😛)so at the end I just wanted to sit down and game and not ah heck around with flashing the bios 😛 but yeah the reason I bought the card early is because I wanted to get one before they locked the damn things 😛

I had the same problem with my 6850, just disabled it since evenmy lowly CPU is enough to decode video. *shrug*

yeah but sadly mine isn't powerful enough to decode HD and play games at the same time without issues (well depending on the file and the game)....but when I finally upgrade to sandy that'll be fixed 😛
