VLC alternative for recording clips?

Vegas really hates the files that VLC poops out. Won't even allow me to import most VLC recordings.
Has minimal problem importing & editing original source video file.

I used a converter & Vegas doesn't play nice with that either & crashes a lot while working with the files.

Something preferably as effortless as VLC is for recording clips would be nice.

Just what format are you using that vegas don't like, and what is the error / warning message it gives ?

TS
Message Vegas gives when trying to import the TS VLC file:
"None of the files dropped on Vegas Pro could be opened."

AVI after using Any Video Converter (I don't recall seeing an option to output TS).

Tried playing with Vegas to get it to shit out an error message, for now it's just been freezing. It freezes more often than it crashes with an error message. I'll try messing with it a bit more later.

Try PotPlayer. It's better than VLC in most ways. Is it better at recordings that Vegas likes? Guess you'll find out.

Why don't you just convert the videos to a different format? Plus Vegas is really terrible, use power director if you can it has support for most video formats.

Got sick of all the crashes & just gave up, then deleted all the clips that I had accumulated.

Will try that later & see how it goes.

I did convert from ts to avi & it behaved worse than it already was.
Will keep Power Director in mind. I've been using Vegas Pro for the past year & am still learning how to get the best out of it. Would love to get on Premier Pro, although my pc chokes up with Vegas Pro sometimes as it is.
