VLC 2.2 Has Many Features Coming, But VLC 3.0 Will Be Even More Exciting

None of my content will really take advatage of any of those new features. If it ever came with native blu ray decoding then I'd be excited, but that's just a dream.

It is too bad they don't have feature parity across all platforms.
For example, the ipad/itouch version allows you to drop files in the web interface.
The android version don't have this, and neither does windows.
You can't loop certain parts of the video on android or apple, but you can on windows.
...and so on...and so on.

Some of those newer features do look nice, lets hope it is less buggy than 2.1.5.

But will it seek properly? Been my biggest gripe with VLC for nearly a decade, a lot of media will play fine, but as soon as you seek forward or backward you get all sorts of ugly artifacts and half the time it just gives you audio with a black screen until you pause it and play again. Meanwhile MPC handles the same file flawlessly.

I see many versions of it. Which one is for people that use windows 8.1 64-bit?

And one for windows 7 pro 64-bit?

I haven't really noticed any difference between the two.
