VLC is currently my second favorite media player right after GOM. even tho GOM doesn't play as much as VLC i love its UI and keyboard controls. Anyone know if VLC plan to update the UI and Keyboard controls any time soon?

Why would anyone insist on 64bit version of a media player? I mean, huh? From what I've read during years, 64bit applications are not faster at all (maybe very slightly in some extremely specific cases, but..). Being able to use more memory is useless as well.

I dont get it either. If anything, i've had nothing but problems with x64 media players and compatibility/bugs. It's not like it needs to cache the whole 8GB blu-ray rip at once to play it back.

The only thing I can think of is if third party plugins/filters are specifically designed to work with the x64 version for memory reasons, but that would be some real niche videophile stuff.
