Vizio 26VA26L...Return for another brand?

I got a Vizio VA26L10T from Walmart....The Tru volume crud drives me nuts...with it on volume varies in movies .....and DVDs....with it off it's fine but then i have to crank up all the way...I'm on a old guys retiree budget and don't want to shell out for a sound bar right now...

It bugs me that Vizio that the tv can get plenty of volume with the TRUvolume on but not off....Is there another reliable 26 inch brand with enough volume and without this sound leveling?
if so I'm returning to Wally world.

You're not going to get great sound out of any flat panel really. You may consider investing in a cheap set of computer speakers if you need more volume. Something from Logitech in the $50 range should do the trick. I don't think spending more on the TV will get you what you're looking for.

still wondering if i get a soundbar if that would eliminate volume fluctuations?

It would be louder, and you can turn off the SRS stuff on the TV, so it should be beneficial.
I don't like the way SRS regulates the sound either. I don't even like the Dolby version of compression, I always use the full-range setting.

hi took it back..Going back to my 13 inch crt until I find something i want ..more research i guess..maybe sony or Samsung

The speakers suck on my $400 32" TV just as much as on my $2,000+ TV. Thin + speakers just doesn't work.
0.000001" of XMAX means crappy sound. 🙂
