Vivo dongle problem

I've got a new Gainward card that has a Vivo dongle that plugs into the card. The other end of the dongle has 4 jacks - 2 input and 2 output. There is an svideo and composite for input, and an svideo and composite for output. I'm trying to input, but using the composite input I only get poor quality black and white picture. If I input the same signal (it's coming from a VCR) to the svideo jack, it's OK.

I'm wondering if anyone here has the same cable and can tell me if mine is defective or not?

I had the same thing before. All I had to do was change the setting in the software so it detected the input as ntsc instead of pal. Hope that helps.

What software are you referring to? I'm using Dscaler, and it's set to NTSC - I still get black and white through the composite connector, but color through the svideo.
