VIVO Comments on the: Gainward GeForce2 Ti/500 XP VIVO Golden Sample

Hi!

Has anyone played with the VIVO (Video In Video Out) on the Gainward GeForce2 Ti/500 XP VIVO Golden Sample?

The Gainward site does not have many specs on it, what size video (320 x 240, 640 x 480 .....) can it capture.

I know that my Matrox G400-TV ALWAYS has problems capturing home video that might not be 100% perfect...the annoying MACROVISION protection keeps popping up...anyone run into this problem?

I have done some capturing with mine.
You really have to D/L the newest Nvidia WDM drivers.
And get the latest patches for Video Studio 5.
Play with the capture settings, as the default settings seem to make the video look blocky.
I have a VCR hooked up to mine and have had no problems with macrovision protection.
After playing with it it doesn't turn out too bad.

Not that I would ever do such a "bad" thing , but have you been able to capture video from a pre-recorded movie that you would purchase?

You can do that too, but you need to get a macrovisison defeater..
It's a box that goes between a vcr and the vivo..
No I don't really need to do that as I have a nice collection of movies on DVD and VHS.

I only use the vivo for home movies.
