Vivaldi Won't Start

I don't see a Browsers section, so I'll put this here.

Vivaldi has been working fine. I use it as a backup for site that won't work well in SeaMonkey. Used it several times earlier today to check things, then closed it.

Tried to open it a few minutes ago and nothing happened. Thought maybe I didn't click it. Tried again. Click Icon pinned to Taskbar. Icon acts normal at first, window appears to begin to open, then Icon flashes yellow as if there's a message dialog trying to open. Then nothing again. Resource Monitor shows Vivaldi with the word Terminated beside it under Status. Stays there for a minute or so, then vanishes.

Have tried several times with the same result.

Nothing in Event Viewer that I can see.

Helpful Suggestions?

Uninstall.

Delete folders.

Download newest version and install.

Profit...?

(Note that Vivaldi is just skinned Chrome now lolol)

This sounds like software. Is the software forum somehow inappropriate for this, or do you demand a specific forum for every single genre of software?

NVM: I see that "software" is just a category. I recalled it being its own forum. I'll leave my snark posted up there for eternal embarrassment.

Well, there is a category of "Windows Software", and since no one running gnu/linux would bother with something silly like vivaldi, the choice is clear.

It's actually not the worst browser and is made/owned by a French company not Chinese like Opera but it is still essentially gussied up Chrome. (like every mainstream browser other than Firefox)

Probably a very stupid question, but have you tried restarting the machine?

If so, and if it still isn't working, after a restart (to make sure you don't have any locked files) you might try to do a repair install by re-running the Vivaldi installer to see if you might have any corrupted files.

You would’ve thought that, on a computer enthusiast-focused forum, those steps would have been attempted prior to posting. But I suppose those days are behind us.

Not due for a restart for another couple of days.

Diverted to using Brave a few times. Clicked Vivaldi by accident and it worked again.

Oh well.

To be fair I'll bet that would have "fixed" the problem! ;)
Doubt it. OP has very specific browsing needs and routines.
He also requires strict adherence to rules when communicating.

In short, he demands very specific accommodations.;)

It wasn't a stupid question, and having some familiarity with OP is why I responded with that GIF in the first post.
Lo and behold...
Not due for a restart for another couple of days.
