I will try Vivaldi out again now that I have a stronger CPU. My experience before was that it was the slowest of the browsers I was considering to launch and load web pages. I really want to like Vivaldi more, but so far it has not been a strong enough alternative.

They have improved cpu usage, you can also try both 32 and 64 bit versions to see which you prefer( I prefer 64 bit version).

Vivaldi is probably one of the youngest browers out there, they still have a lot of features to add in the future , end of the day it's very stable (not had a single crash yet) and the future looks great for Vivaldi.

on my new Ryzen system I just installed vivaldi again. Kinda amazed. It's running very zippy. Even on my sandy bridge work machine firefox was noticably faster than vivaldi. With Ryzen vivaldi is shining. Now I only wish they had an alternative app to downthemall.

I used to run Firefox, but from a usability perspective, it just feels like a worse version of Chrome these days. Same obsession with removing features for the sake of "minimalism".

I've switched over completely to Vivaldi (except for my Windows tablet, because Edge is superior with touch). I like that it's so customizable while still looking clean and modern. Simple things that nowadays require plugins and extensions on the other browsers are just a click or two away. The one feature I miss is cloud sync. Especially with all those options and tweaks, it's a bit of a pain to configure on a new installation.
