Have you tried the Firefox 57a1 Nightly 64-bit? Pretty speedy, all things considered. Faster than stock Firefox. How does Vivaldi compare to that one?

I was comparing it to the official FF 55 version, I don't use FF nightly versions or even Vivaldi snapshot RC builds, just comparing the official versions .

I gave FF 57A1 a try, yes it's probably the fastest FF version, but still prefer Vivaldi for speed and usage in general, both are fast browsers .

Actually it does, remember the Old Opera before it moved direction and became Chromium based with all the old Opera features gone? Vivaldi is basically the old Opera with Chromium engine, you want tabs on bottom of screen like old Opera had, no problem, try doing that with Chrome or the latest Opera which you can't.

More browser options are always a win win for users, since it gives you more free choice and a better chance of finding that right browser for you.

Vivaldi is all about speed and customisation and they still have a lot of features missing or to install, they are moving forward slowly but the right way for stability etc...

A Browser for Our Friends
In 1994, two programmers started working on a web browser. The idea was to make a really fast browser, capable of running on limited hardware, keeping in mind that users are individuals with their own requirements and wishes. Opera was born.

Our little piece of software gained traction, our group grew, and we formed a community. We stayed close to our users and our roots. We kept improving our software based on our user feedback, as well as our own ideas on how to make a great browser. We innovated and strove for excellence.

Fast forward to 2015. The browser we once loved has changed its direction. Sadly, it is no longer serving its community of users and contributors — who helped build the browser in the first place.

So we came to a natural conclusion: we must make a new browser. A browser for ourselves and for our friends. A browser that is fast, but also a browser that is rich in functionality, highly flexible and puts the user first. A browser that is made for you.

And so, Vivaldi is born.

Running build 1.11.917.43 on a new windows 10 install, run's great although currently a tad slower than Edge

I gave FF 57A1 a try, yes it's probably the fastest FF version, but still prefer Vivaldi for speed and usage in general, both are fast browsers .

Have you disabled extensions which are not multiprocess compatible? Otherwise FF will probably run slower.
