I noticed that the bottom one is a bit thicker...but other than that...nothing.

The slope on the bottom image is different... it actually "caves in" sort of if you look at it.
Slope = rise over run. On the top, it's 2/5 on the green triangle, then 3/8 on the red triangle.

The bottom one isn't a triangle. Notice where the green, yellow, and red meet. Look at the same point in the top. Jeez....

yeah the slant is off a little, cuz the squares don;t line up, but i can't see how you would get an open block

Yellow is 7 blocks. In the top image, you wouldn't have an open block because in the thing I mentioned above, it's not a complete block at that same point in the top image. In the bottom image, it is, therefore the extra block. So the top image isn't a triangle

Hello, neither of them is a true triangle! The slope on the left side is not the same all the way through. Both "triangles" are dented!

The slope of the red triangle is .375 while the slope of the greenish triangle is .4.
