Vista's Voice Recognition Demo

I played with it in the earlier builds (havent so much in the newer builds) and its recognition capabilities seemed to be at par with some of the other engines out there (like Dragon's). Obviously it gets a lot better over time as the engine "learns" your voice.

And of course you shouldnt be basing your decisions off one demo (good or bad); you really have to try this stuff to see if it works for you (i.e. if it works for me it might not work with someone who has a differant accent).

I just love smarmy journalists who don't know the first thing about software development making comments like 'no wonder why Vista is late.'

He sounds like a slashbot.

I think you mean "beta". Demos should be used for making decisions.

No I meant demo (re-read my post); though you are correct on the beta point.

It's okay to use demos as part of the decision making process, but you should not be basing your decision solely on the results of one demo.

Make sense now?

Good Point. Even multiple demos in different production environments are only one part of my purchasing decision. I have yet to find a "demo" that replicates my exact production environment.
