Have not made a post in a spell, and I was just wondering what is the big to do about Vista - other than it looking pretty - like a Mac. I just read that MS has sold ziggles of Vista!
Seems I read that it is supposed to be more secure. I have a buddy that just ordered an HP with Vista preloaded, along with all the otehr crap they put on there for you to buy. It just amazes me. I have XP Pro, AVG free, and a router . .and I never have MALWARE or VIRUS probs ...NEVER!
Thanks for letting me vent.

Features New to Windows Vista

Superfetch Vista's most attractive new feature, along with DX10 for us gamers.

That's HP's fault, not Microsoft. Microsoft doesn't put the craplets there; the manufacturers (HP, Dell, etc.) put them there to make extra profits. They have been there since the Windows 95 days.

Thanks for the links. I am not a gamer, but I will get some info there to be educated.

I knew that about HP and all the others too. I am just glad that I built my own, so I did not/ do not have to deal with the 'freebes ...{for 6 months, anyway}".

It may cloud up the registry a little and perhaps leave behind some empty folders, but you can always opt to uninstall all the stuff they put on there for you....

Or if you're die-hard, just download the drivers you need and reinstall from scratch.
