Got business edition here at work, I would like to run VMware 1.0.8 so can use existing XP build as a VM on the new Vista x64 build, however after install x64 bleats about drivers etc and compatibility...I dont think it installs properly, I cant login to the localhost console.

This is a Lenovo Quad core SFF and I cant get the fan to stay quiet. Have tried x64 speedfan but that doesnt seem to want to control the fans!?....

Its quiet enough until I do some work, then it speed up to 100% and doesnt slow down....

Help......

Not sure about the fan speed thing, but I know that Vista has disabled the localhost DNS lookup. You have to specify the IP address 127.0.0.1 or whatever the loopback address is. Give that a try or use the IP address assigned to the system (ipconfig on the command prompt).
