Westinghouse 22 inch LCD and a visontek 4850.

Sometimes vista will not show 1680x1050 resolution, and catalyst wont let me force the resolution any higher than 1600x1200. This sometimes happens sporadically where it lets me put it back to 1680x1050, but it usually reverts back to the lower resolution after a restart. Ive got the latest catalyst drivers and everything else is updated as well. Ive also tried both of the generic LCD monitor drivers and westinghouse has nothing on their website requiring special drivers.

Ideas anyone?

What is the native resolution of your LCD? 1680x1050? or 1920x1080/1200?

Is it this monitor?

If so, why are you trying to force resolutions higher than your monitor can support?
Lets talk about this first before figuring out why it won't stay at its native by default.
It could be that you are messing with settings you arent supposed to, and borked something.
The native res is 1680x1050. And this is the optimum (best image) for this monitor.
If it's a different monitor, post model number.

Yeah thats the same monitor, and 1680x1050 is the native resolution. I tried using the ATI driversweeper utility last night to wipe catalyst off and reinstalled the catalyst drivers from the visontek website, still no dice for me.

Do you think it could be the LCD itself? I think im going to toss ubuntu on a live CD and see if it can drive to 1680x1050 later today when I get back from class.
