Go to install Vista and it can't find my SATA HDD. Tried getting the SATA drivers from Asus, still nothing. Suggestions?

What do you mean it wont find it? Does it not display in my computer\explorer or is it not listed in disk management?

Have you verified that your BIOS detects the drive?

Control panel - admin tools - disk management - find the HDD, - Initialize it and then format it.

When you just plug it in its not formatted and wont have a drive letter until you give it one.

Hi,

You did not say if this was a fresh install on a NEW machine. If it is does your drive show up in bios?

I would try a different sata port if you have one. try booting a live cd like knoppix or something and see if it is detected. Check your bios too.

Does the drive show up in device manager? If so then Anubis solution should work.

Did anyone read the 1st few words of the post.? GO TO INSTALL VISTA....
Would imply that he is installing vista on this new machine.

Make sure you have the power AND data cables plugged in. Check to see if the drive is detected in BIOS.
