Vista won't boot after clean install.

So I just bought a new WD 3200AAKS hard disk to replace my aging 40GB OS hard disk. When installing vista, I made two partitions, the first about 100GB and the second one contains the rest of the remaining space. Both are then formatted.

Vista then installs fine on the 100GB partition. Now the problem occurs right after the first boot when installation completes. The screen would just hang after leaving the bios post screen. (First my pc detects the Vista DVD on the DVD drive, asks me to boot it but since Vista is already installed I just ignore it. Right after that, nothing happens). It's like the OS installation is nowhere to be found. This never happens when installing vista on the 40GB hard disk.

Does this new HD is causing this problem?
