Vista Wireless connection problem.

I have verizon as my isp and with there dsl the router and modem are combined. Well I have been trying to connect my laptop with the router and it detects it, but it says it can not connect because the router didn't send a response. Everything else in my house works fine with the router, except my laptop running vista.

When you say everything else works fine, does that include other wireless devices? That would rule out a router problem.

Could it be a security method on the router? I don't know about Vista, but I know my friend's XP SP2 would not like WPA2.... but would work with WPA1. Other than that.. check to see if you got latest drivers for wireless?

I have seen Vista being flaky on WiFi before: couple weeks ago, we had a little conference at work, and everyone with Vista couldn't connect to the access point for some reason, while others could. Go figure.. but after they went and reset the wireless system, Vista machines got on as well, so I don't know.
