VISTA Webcast on Newegg!

looks like you'll get a copy of Vista beta... was hoping you'd get some sorta coupon for the final product.. still might be worth checking out though.

Hmm... I don't think I care enough about Vista to watch it. I'll read whatever's important later.

Won't this just be a bunch of M$ hype? Does anyone expect there to be useful information presented?

Where did you see this? I saw the mention of some sort of special offer... I was thinking a coupon myself.

Usually, they will have either free give aways, or a coupon of some type if you watch it in its entirety. At least that is what happens with most of these that I watched.
I am NOT saying the egg will do this though. It is just possible.

I think there will be some type of offer at the end of the webcast, but I think they'll show features of Vista and Office we haven't seen before and answer any questions we have.

I did something similar to this with XP when it came out, but it was exclusively for retail employees and in-person. We got a free copy of XP Pro at the end. There was also an online seminar like this one, and after completing it you could get another copy of XP Pro sent to you.

Yet another example reinforcing the notion that anyone who refers to Microsoft as "M$" will never like one of their OS'es and their opinion is worth about as much as the lint in one's pocket.

Hey I use versions of Windows from 98 to Server 2003 on a daily basis and know they're actually fairly good OSes. I call them M$ because their support sucks and they like to charge you $35 per call to answer any little question.

I know Vista is a big deal and I intend to upgrade to it once it's been patched a little bit but I don't think I need to attend this thing to be able to do my job right, and I just don't care enough about it right now to spend time on it.

M$ just means that their prority is obviously money over the customer. I don't blame them for it, just wish they would pretend to apprecciate me using their product.

Signed up, but you know you can get Vista Beta right now... for free off the MS website.

Im more interested in the info.

I already have Vista RC2 and to tell the truth I'm not in the least bit impressed.
God I'm going to hate it when I have to transition over to it. Then again maybe I'll start looking into Linux very seriously soon.

yeah what is up with this? RC1 and RC2 have already been released. does anyone know if there's a chance they'll be giving out final releases at all instead?

haha yea. Everyone whines about new software, especially MS os'es, with a bunch threatening to go linux. But everyone hops right back on the wagon once vista doesn't blow up like the naysayers predicted and by the time sp1 comes out. I will transfer over to vista once SP1 comes out, but until then I'll dual boot to mess around with it.

I'm in. Best deal I've ever received from a MS event was when I attended a local Office event for a day and got a full version of MS Office Professional. I'm betting with this one, we'll get some sort of discount or upgrade. We'll see.
