Vista visual themes

It's well-known and apparent that there is a significant resource savings and performance gain when going from vista aero to vista basic.

But is there a large difference in performance when going from vista basic to windows standard or windows basic?

thanks

This is an Operating Systems topic, so it's being moved from Software For Windows to Operating Systems.

Significant? I've never seen or heard anyone claim significant gains from switching themes. You might gain 20~50MB or memory, but that's just about it from what I've seen.

I would say that it depends on your machine. I have Vista Ultimate on my quad system, and if it were any faster I would not notice it. I never wait on it - it waits on me. 🙂
