Vista Versus 16 bit Games

Can Vista play in any way old 16 bit games like Win XP Can?

I am trying to get a copy of Vista Business Ultimate from Work. Under our License Agreement we can install it on one computer at home. Probably will be just the 32 bit version. I am building a new Core 2 System with integrated Video.

I play some games like Dune 2000 and AGE of Empires 1/2/3 and some other older games from time to time.

I'm not sure if x64 will thunk all the way down to 16bit.

You should be ok with 16 bit apps on Vista x86 although I think the games you are listing are 32bit.

x86-64, when run in long mode, will not let you thunk to real mode. Limitation of the architecture itself. Use DOSBox, VPC, etc. to emulate a 16bit environment.
