[Vista] User folder now marked as System Protected file?

Hey all,

I've just encountered an error that I've never seen before on a Vista (Business) machine. The User folder somehow became marked as a System Protected folder. (I know this because checking Show Hidden Files and Folders does not make it appear but Show Protected Operating System Files does.)

The issues is that the Indexing Service no longer works on the documents. I cannot add the folder to be indexed because Windows Explorer does not see it.

The "Hidden Folder" property is checked and greyed out for the folder. No clue how to fix that.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Sorry, the C:\Users folder and all subfolders. As I said I've never seen this behavior on a Vista machine before.
