Vista: USB Hub doesnt work after resume from sleep, must reboot

Hi.

I have Vista installed on my Inspiron 6400 notebook. All my usb devices are attached to my hub. The problem is that if I resume from sleep, my USB hub does not work. I have tried replugging it in, uninstalling and reinstalling it from the device manager, and the only way to get it working is to reboot the computer. So if I wanted to use any USB device, I would have to manually unplug it from my hub and plug it in to my laptop, but it cannot go through the hub. This is kind of an annoyance since I dont want to completely shutdown my computer everytime (Vista takes forever to boot up).

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

do devices remain asleep if plugged in directly where the hub is now?

Does the hub wake up if you unplug it and plug it back in?

Yea, the devices remain asleep and no the hub does not wake up if I unplug and plug it back it. I have to reboot to use it again. I had this exact same hub before I upgraded to Vista and I had no problems under XP.

So if you plug a device into the same spot the hub is plugged into now they do the same thing: sleep but fail to wake?

I would check for chipset / driver / bios updates for the laptop.
