Ok, i ordered a copy of WinXp OEM from Newegg.

The copy came with a a "coupon" for an upgrade to Vista Home Basic $49 or Vista Home Premium $79.

Under the Eligibilty Requrements number 4 is...
4:Mail to the address listed in Olnine Ordering section: (1) this completed upgrade redemtion form:including the the online order confirmation number in the space provided and (2) a copy of your reciept from your authorized system builder.Only original upgrade forms supplied by and authorized system builder wil be accepted.

Now, since i built the pc myself, am i "authorized"?

Go to the Newegg site that features these packages and read the many, many reviews that specifically give examples of real experiences on this issue. Some bad, but mostly good.

You might want to see my thread "Has the EGG gone bad? In off topics at www.pcper.com as well as Will I get my Vista upgrade? It will give you an idea of what's going on with the coupon/.To bad you didn't spring for MCE2005, the coupon with that gives a an upgrade to Vista Home Premium. I have been at the whole coupon snagle since the ad first hit Newegg, and I am pretty sure we will get our upgrades once the whole thing is ironed out. The upgrade website supposedly contains a "glitch", that will be fixed when they reset the database on Nov30th. BD51

I would submitt the NewEgg invoice as a "reciept from system builder".

The "form from the system builder" is actually the form that came in you NewEgg package.

It looks like the redemption web site is having trouble accepting the serial numbers. Read the NewEgg reviews before you try.
