what's the difference?

does the enterprise version have more features than the ultimate or is it the same as vista business with bitlocker and no media center?

thx

edit, nm, found the answer link

now wiki mentions that the enterprise edition includes software assurance only benefits including a license allowing for multiple virtual machines to be run. are they talking about microsoft virtual PC only or are they saying you can run vmware?

does ultimate have such a limitation/feature?

As far as I know Vista Ultimate is the version that incorporates the features of all the other versions... But its pricey... newegg is selling it for $200.. ouch!

That's full OEM; retail costs a lot more (something like $380), and you can transfer it as many times as you'd like (OEM can only be used with one system/motherboard, though you can replace the motherboard if it dies).

Enterprise is Volume License only, it is not sold to consumers. The main difference besides that is Enterprise does not have Media Center or Ultimate Extras. Otherwise, I think they are identical.

can you shed some light on the licensing for multiple VM's? If what you say is true, then enterprise should not care about the number of vms you have on the PC either right?
