Just installed Vista Ultimate 64 version from my previous HP 64 a while back. Sleep worked fine in HP, but now my system sleeps but will not wake up. My USB ports do not work when waking and I need to hit reset to resume windows. I didn't change any of my hardware after the Ultimate install.

Asus M2A-VM MB
WD 320YS HD
AMD 5000 BE OCed to 3.0gz
4GB Adata ram
4GB Gskill ram
ATI 550 tuner
Dlink NIC
ATI 2600XT vid card
Belkin powered USB hub
MS USB keyboard and mouse

Turn off all the keyboards, mice and NIC "allow the device to wake up computer" in Device Manager.

Try waking up with the Power Button only.

Then you can re-enable the devices one by one, and see which one causes problem.

Otherwise test your RAM, assuming it is set to the specs (voltage, frequency and timings), and eliminate all the overclocks (CPU, RAM, memory etc.)

But start with the "devices"...

Edit: I have had problems with MS mouse "Intellipoint" software, so this is the next thing to check (uninstall). Also, use different Desktop background and Screen saver - my Ultimate was crashing with the "waterfall" ultimate "extra", but the latest video driver fixed the problem.

Jag, did all that, I think I could either reformfat, or wait for a fix thru update to deal with it. I think I am at the point where I think Vista is at fault.

Again, no big deal
