Vista Ultimate or Home Premium?

Hey guys, I'm about to build a new computer and 64-bit OEM copy's of Vista Ultimate and Home Premium are $200 and $115 off Newegg, respectively. Now, I understand Ultimate has more features than Home Premium, but are they worth the $85 difference?

Another thing is I'm not completely decided on OEM or Upgrade. I purchased an OEM copy of XP MCE about a year, year and a half back for my current computer after being tired of having a pirated copy of XP Pro with no service pack updates. Can I use my MCE CD to use the Upgrade version of Vista on my new build? I recall reading that this was one way to get past the Upgrade version asking for an old version of Windows, but that it no longer works with Vista. So how do the Upgrade versions get verification of an old version of windows? Thanks!

Ultimate is overkill for most home users like myself.
I'd stick with Premium and save $85 for another 2gb of memory, if you search hard enough.

Just my 2 pennies.

I believe you can use the OEM MCE and upgrade to Vista off of it but if you ever decide to move to a new box the OEM MCE won't legally transfer to it so you will be stuck with OEM limitations on your upgrade Vista (unless you have a different existing XP OS..oem or otherwise..on the box you are moving to).

If there was ever a time to purchase retail this would be it. The OS just released and it will be here for years to come. If you have retail you can transfer to your heart's content plus get support. Unless you know of a specific reason why you need Ultimate (domain connectivity or something) then home premium should be fine. H.P. is the closest equivalent to your previous XP MCE.
