Vista ultimate nvidia network controller update problem

I need to get rid of this "nVidia - Networking - NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller" update. Since ive installed it, windows wouldnt connect to the network for no apparent reason, eventually after a few restarts it did, but the internets a lot slower than before.

I cant get rid of this update. Its not listed in the remove updates window. System restore dosent get rid of it. Uninstalling the network controller leads to windows vista immediately re-installing the thing.

So...

1. How can i solve this?
2. I would like it to use whatever driver it was using before? it worked a lot better.

If i could stop vista from immediately reinstalling it then i could make it use the old driver again, but i dont know how to do that or where the old driver would be located.

I question your symptoms since you say that System Restore didn't roll it back, you sure you went back far enough?

You can also just go into device manager, select the device, and select update driver. Walk thru the wizard, one step will let you choose which version to install.

I rolled back to the system created time of 15:00 today, the updates were installed at 18:59 today so it shouldve gotten rid of them. I poked around in device managed and the "rollback driver" thing was greyed out, and there wasent much of a choice for drivers when i went to the update driver bit. Maybe the update wasent a driver like i originally thought? Or it made updates to the existing driver rather than installed a new one. Either way it seems to have worked itself out, internets speedy again, previously affected applications are now acting like they did before 😀
