Vista Ultimate Notebooks Hybernate on their Own

I have two Vista Ultimate laptops that seem to hybernate on their own after maybe 2 or more days of inactivity. I have a desktop with Vista Ultimate but thankfully that stays on all the time. I have a Netbook eee 1000HA and a Compaq CQ60-420US. The power options when plugged in is set on NEVER for hybernate and they seem to hybernate after maybe 2 or 3 days without activity.

One of them I keep at work plugged in so after a weekend, when I come back the power is off and I have to press a button to come back from hybernation. A theory I have is maybe the power goes out during the weekend (unlikely) at work.

Then another Compaq CQ60 I haven't gotten around to playing with it yet so I just keep it on but notice after a few days, it goes into hybernation. That also is set to NEVER hybernate when plugged in.

Anybody know what's going on?

Go to C:\Windows and as administrator, delete the file hiberfil.sys.

Basically, laptops are not designed to run 24/7 on a sustained basis. If you do that - remove the battery completely and run only on A/C.

I like how you keep spelling hibernation with a Y - it's pretty cool.

there might be an option in "control panel ---> system" but I'm on XP right now and about to go to sleep...
