Just to be the Devil's Advocate... how do you know it contains no malicious code, exactly? Don't tell me "because my antivirus software didn't detect anything," because that is flawed reasoning. I see malware that is given a clean ticket by most or all of the ~30 virus scanners at VirusTotal.com, and it's still malware.
The Vista EULA states that you may only get patches and updates from Microsoft (or their authorized sources). I think it would be wise to stick with the official sources. Maybe stash can quote the applicable sections of the 10 Immutable Laws for us here...
