Vista SP1 RC build

I'm running vista with the beta service pack 1. I have an 8800 GT card. I'm not sure what is causing the problem, but I'm getting a blue screen after my computer comes out of sleep mode, caused by my video card drivers. I did just update the nvidia drivers to version 169.09, so that might be the problem as well

Beta RC1 with Beta Nvidia drivers is not a great mix,so you could be right, you could always go back to the 169.02s(earliest driver I believe that supports 8800GT)however that's beta too.

Well i uninstalled beta sp1 and got another BSOD. So it is the new nvidia drivers, 169.09 causing the problem.

I have got my hands on a copy of vista service pack RC1, i'm going to try that and see if that makes a difference.

i just fixed my sleep problem with 169.12 on vista 64 w/ 8800gt. just when i got happy....

only to add another problem...(just upgraded to all new 4gig OCZ ram and my vista sleep problem returns with BLACK screen of death). once the vista goes to sleep, @wake up - the vga card fan spins at 100% trying to wake up but apprently no wake up 🙁. i have to reset cmos and reset everything else and amazingly vista takes me back to last suspended state (the state it fell asleep in) eventhough cmos reset and cold boot has taken place. i got all ms hot fixes but beginning to suppect it might be RAM problem.
