Vista SP1 ISO Download

Will non-Technet subscribers with an oem version be able to download an image with SP1 integrated? Or are there plans for slipstreaming? I heard Slipstreaming was not going to be available for SP1...

My Vista 64 had a rough install (to make a long story short it blue screened when first going into windows so I had to create a new admin account and the original admin missing and the current account won't give me access to certain system files ie system restore/page file, I have tried changing ownerships/permissions etc...) and I was hoping to be able to get SP1 integrated because I'm going to reinstall the OS anyways.

Vista has an image based install, so it uses a technique different than slipstreaming but effectively the result is the same (an install disc that installs Vista SP1 as its end result).

I think you can do it with this:

I posted some links a couple of weeks ago as to where one could download the Vista SP1 files (from Microsoft) in aother thread; you might be able to use those CAB files etc. with the software above to create your 'slipstreamed' image... or maybe you should use the .exe format of SP1, I'm not sure, I haven't done it yet. Anyway I'm sure if you look you can find either the DVD/CD ISO image of SP1 or the .exe installer or the cab files for download, whatever you need. Read the instructions in the software above as to what the process is to make your 'slipstreamed' install with the SP1 files for details.
