I downloaded Creatives Audigy Drivers for Vista. As BETA as they may be, the installer should be able to INSTALL.

What can I do?

The Drivers that came with my sound card are not compatible with Vista. So Device Manager wouldn't make a difference I don't think.

Any other advice appreciated.

I'm confused as to what Audigy card you have?

FYI when I installed the Creative beta driver for my Audigy 4 sound card, all I had to do was run the beta driver exe file ,it then installed automatically.

At some point you're going to have to just give up and dual-boot XP for gaming

Hmm no,I have XP on my 2nd PC and I have not had to use it for gaming yet.

This is very important, there are 2 lines of drivers depending on if you have a "hardware" Audigy or a "software" Audigy.

It was (partly) a joke, since this is Coldkilla's 4th or 5th thread about sound and video problems with Vista :)

????? It's the basic: Sound Blaster Audigy. Not Audigy 2, or anything special. Just the "Sound Blaster Audigy"

So it's a Audigy 1 not a SE or LS version?

That's becasue you have to accept the agreement Creative have on their webpage before you can download them.

Anyway ones you want are these below(providing you don't have a SE,LS or Value version) ,so just select Audigy and Vista from the download section.
