Vista: Slow file search/indexing. How to fix?

Every time I try to open a folder on my main hard drive or separate drive, a green bar on top would start slowly moving. 3-5 seconds later files would appear.
This is really messed up. How do I fix it? Never had this issue with xp

I know you installed SP1, but there is also a stand alone update to Windows Search that was released a few weeks ago that fixes other performance issues with Vista search.

Windows Search 4.0
