vista sleep mode - disables mic on camera

It's a USB camera and the mic works fine right after a reboot but after waking from sleep the mic won't work on it. Trying to use it for vent. Is there some way to refresh USB devices?

Does it work if you disable/enable it in device manager? If yes there is a command you can run that does that.

No that doesn't work. FYI the camera is Creative Live! Cam Optia Pro.

I'm thinking this might be a fix but don't want to just go at it willy nilly. Is there a way to do a forced reset w/o modifying it in the registry? that way I could test it before modifying the registry.
