This would be awesome if I could get it to display something besides MSDN/IE feeds...is there any way to change the feeds?

yeah, goto a page like cnn.com and subscribe to their feed. Then you can change it on the sidebar, its a bit tricky, but I got it to work.

my feed on the vista beta machien I setup at work on an old machine is cnn.com

I dont know of too many others out there, but goto alot of your favorite websites and look for the little feed icon to be lit.

If I recall correctly, I added/organized all my feeds in IE 7 and then added them to the sidebar RSS gadget.
