Microsoft already looking for Vista SP1 guinea pigs

I didn't start using XP until SP1 and I don't intend to run Vista until SP1, unless I can get it for really cheap on MSDN-AA. By the time SP1 comes out, there may be some software I'd want to use that works much better, or only works on Vista. In the meantime I'll stick with XP.

From the point of view of benefit to cost, I see no reason to upgrade to Vista in the near future. Everything, from the hardware to the software costs big $$ to run it well and enjoyably. I have RC1 and I've used it. Yes, it's cool, (semi) cutting edge and so forth, but the software/driver support is lackluster and gaming performance is lower than XP. The main thing taking me to Vista is the games and to some extent the security, but those won't be out for some time either, and when they are, they'll be debuting at $69.99+ 😕
