I just finished installing Windows Vista tonight and all of the motherboard drivers seem to have been installed fine, along with my 6600's graphics drivers.

There is no lag, but anytime UAC pops up with a warning or I press Ctrl+Alt+Del, my screen turns black and my mouse freezes for about a second, then it shows the prompt.

I thought this would be a graphics problem, so I downloaded the latest Vista drivers from nVidia and that didn't seem to do the trick.

I also notice whenever it does freeze for a second and goes black, when it goes back to normal, the CPU Usage is coming down from what appears to be 100%.

Specs:
Intel Pentium 805D @ stock
ECS P4M800-M Pro
2x1GB PC3200 XMS
6600GT

Your mouse isn't supposed to freeze but the screen is supposed to dim, UAC prompts are presented from a "secure desktop" so that no malware can interact with them behind your back.

The screen does not dim, it turns completely black. When it returns from the black screen, the screen is dimmed (like it should be), which is where I see the UAC prompt.

That's what I assumed.

I have a VIA® P4M800Pro & VT8237R Plus chipset, which Vista apparently detected fine. I also noticed my campus internet was going horribly slow (like peaking at 80kb/s), whereas on my laptop running XP it downloaded the same file at around 330kb/s (nVidia Display Drivers).
