Just installed ultimate 64 the other day. ran the windows exerience index thing and got a 3.8 in the disk data transfer rate. Ran it again tonight and got a 3.7. My primary hard drive is a 74GB Raptor sata. Is this normal? Seems like that would be one area i should be higher.
 
wow. about a minute after I posted I got a vista error saying the drive is failing. gonna run a dianostic program to see whats up. Vista doesn't happen to have a built in imaging software does it???

 
Well, I'm wondering what the best approach is now. I've contacted WD and hope to get a replacement. I don't really mind reinstalling vista but I've got everything dialed in pretty good right now so I'd rather image or clone it.
I had a copy of acronis but it's been a year or so since I've used ity and I don't even know if it would work in vista. Any chance WD makes a clone tool or similar for something like this? I seem to remember IBM had one years ago IIRC.
